Robert Half Contracts Finance and Accounting division is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a large retail company! This Accounts Payable Clerk would be working directly with the Accounting Manager handling tasks such as:• Audits all operating expense invoices and prepares invoices for payment including review of all invoices for discrepancies. Obtains payment authorization from managers and substantiates business transactions.• Verifies and posts details of business transactions into the accounting system • Develops and maintains excel spreadsheets to allocate and post expenses to the proper department, including employee benefits insurance and freight bills from other vendors• Ensures payment is made to vendor by due date • Maintains operating account balance and processes invoices for mailing/filing. • Reconciles, balances daily sales receipts for each location to cash disbursements report • Processes and posts all cash/check deposits and verifies credit card batches • Processes, balances and posts third party financing in accounting system and bank retail services • Maintains and balances petty cash fund, including petty cash replenishments• Reconciles bank accounts with general ledger balances • Reconciles and balances other general ledger accounts including prepaid accounts, notes payable and liability accounts • Views/checks emails daily and prints invoices from vendors and suppliers • Reviews, research invoices, assigns appropriate account codes, and obtains proper approvals • Maintains files for paid invoices and checks written.• Distributes mail received and stamps outgoing mail• Assists sales with $500 card input and maintenance • Assists accounting staff/accounting manager and performs other accounts payable duties as directed The ideal candidate would have 2 years working as an Accounts Payable clerk, knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel and have excellent communication skills.
